Jack Sullivan: Diafra Sakho is not leaving West Ham

It appears the Diafra Sakho transfer saga has taken another unexpected twist.

The West Ham striker was spotted in France this morning amid reports that Rennes were interested in signing the player.

French news outlets quickly reported that Sakho was over to have a medical with the Ligue 1 club, news that was picked up by Sky Sports as they confirmed that a £9m deal was set to be concluded.

However, Jack Sullivan has had his say.

The son of co-owner David Sullivan has hit out at claims that Sakho is leaving, saying that the Senegalese striker will be staying put.

Sakho has struggled with injuries over the last 18 months or so but is finally fit and back in the thick of first-team action for West Ham.

Given the uncertainty surrounding the fitness of Andy Carroll, it makes sense for West Ham to hold onto the attackers they have rather than look to offload them.
