West Ham signed the defender from Danish side FC Midtjylland for just £3.8m back in August 2010 and the 29-year-old has developed into one of the Premier League’s best defenders.
Over the last seven years, Reid has made 204 appearances for the Hammers and scored 10 goals in those games.
One of the first names on the teamsheet, Reid is a real leader in the dressing room and is now the club’s second-longest serving player after captain and academy graduate Mark Noble.
Reid signed a six-year deal with the club back in 2015 when he was strongly linked with a move away, but has now signed improved terms running until the end of the 2022/23 season and the player himself has signalled his intent to see out his playing career at the club.
