West Ham want to bring in forwards this summer, but they’ve not wasted any time shipping one out.
The club have confirmed that Enner Valencia has left the club and returned to Mexican football with Tigres for an undisclosed fee, reportedly between £6-7m.
Valencia scored just 10 goals in 72 appearances for the Hammers following a £12m move from another Mexican side Pachuca in 2014 after an impressive campaign at the World Cup with Ecuador.
Things never worked out for the 27-year-old who spent last season on loan at Everton where he scored just three times.
With the club eager to bring in reinforcements in attack, it was always unlikely that Valencia was going to be a big role player next season and it’s a wise move to shift him out now and reinvest the cash.
