Andre Ayew had a rather stop-start debut campaign with West Ham last season.
Following his club-record £20.5m arrival from Swansea in August, the Ghanaian suffered a torn thigh on debut away at Chelsea in the opening game of the season, and injury which sidelined him for nearly three months.
Ayew was working his way back to something close to his best form during the winter, scoring in a convincing 4-1 win away at former club Swansea as the Hammers began to climb the table – before jetting off to the African Cup of Nations.
In the final three months of the season, Ayew scored five goals (taking his season’s tally to six) and provided three assists, giving fans hope that he can be a key contributor next season, but another Premier League club is eyeing the former Marseille man.
The Independent report that West Brom are interested in signing Ayew this summer and Tony Pulis has always been an admirer of him.
To get the deal done, Pulis is ready to offer versatile attacker Nacer Chadli in a part-exchange.
Pulis has fallen out with the Belgium international and it’s likely that the former Tottenham forward will leave the Hawthorns this summer. Whether West Ham are interested in such a deal remains to be seen.
