West Ham have suffered a setback this week in their pursuit of Hamburg winger Nicolai Muller, as the Bundesliga club have stated the forward is nor for sale this summer, according to Bild.
The 29-year-old’s future has come under question in the last few weeks with a number of clubs in England and Germany including West Ham, Wolfsburg and Southampton keeping tabs on his situation this summer.
However, his future now seems clear as Hamburg’s sporting director Jens Todt told Bild: We won’t sell Nicolai this summer. We have given his agent and Wolfsburg a clear signal.”
The German international who currently has two caps for his nation still has 12 months on his current contract with Hamburg and looks set to see out the remainder of his deal.
Muller found the back of the net on five occasions and provided seven assists for his team mates in 25 Bundesliga appearances last season.
