West Ham to rival Leipzig for French winger

West Ham to rival Leipzig for French winger

The Hammers are reportedly in the race to sign Caen youngster Yann Karamoh, but will face competition from RB Leipzig.

Goal reports that the two clubs will fight for the 18-year-old’s signature this summer and both sides are ready to pay €10million. Karamoh has progressed through Caen’s academy and had a breakthrough season last term, netting five times in 35 league appearances.

The Frenchman has also played for his country at all youth ranks, from U16, to his current U20 level, and has even managed to score for each team.

West Ham will undoubtedly be looking for depth in the transfer window this summer and a move for Karamoh would certainly give them an exciting option on the right-wing.

Goal’s report also claims that the winger’s departure from France is set to be formalised within the next week, however there has not been an indication as to who will win the race to sign him.
