West Ham United face competition from newly promoted Huddersfield Town for the services of Arsenal midfielder Jack Wilshere, according to a report in the Examiner.
With just one year left on his current contract at the Emirates it is understood that the Gunners are willing to listen to offers for the player to leave permanently during the summer transfer window.
The 25-year-old English international enjoyed a season-long loan with Eddie Howe’s AFC Bournemouth after enduring long periods out of action through injury, and West Ham manager Slaven Bilic is reported to be keen on keeping Wilshere in the capital.
Bookmakers across the country have Bilic’s side and David Wagner’s Terriers favourites for Wilshere’s signature, who has 34 caps for his national side.
Wilshere has been with Arsenal since he was nine and his 16-year association with the club may well come to an end during the summer.
