West Ham given boost in goalkeeper pursuit

Manchester City are preparing to lower their asking price for West Ham target Joe Hart, after failing to find any suitable options for the unwanted England international.

The Mirror reports that Manchester City want to offload the goalkeeper permanently this summer but clubs are unwilling to meet their £25 million asking price.

Pep Guardiola’s side want a permanent deal after paying the majority of his wages last season whilst the England international was on loan at Torino in Serie A.

Manchester City are hoping for more of a response by asking for just £20 million, but the player’s current £150,000 wage package is likely to cause problems.

West Ham have already seen a loan bid for the player rejected. Hart appears to be a crossroads in his career, with his place as England’s number one under threat, he needs to ensure he is playing first-team football next season with the World Cup just around the corner.
