Adama Traore’s reported transfer from Middlesbrough to West Ham United has gathered pace and could even be completed this week, according to a report in The Northern Echo.

Strong rumors have suggested that the winger’s representatives met senior West Ham officials at the end of last week, and that the deal could be completed as quickly as later on this week.

Traore will cost The Hammers in the region of £8 million for his services, the same fee Middlesborough paid Aston Villa last summer.

New boss Garry Monk is allowing the winger to move on from The Riverside who struggled last campaign, failing to find the back of the net and registering only one assist in his 16 Premier League starts for Middlesborough.

The 21-year-old spent a total of 11 years in Barcelona’s youth ranks and managed to make one appearance with the first team during that time, before moving to Aston Villa in 2015.
