Reece Oxford undergoing Monchengladbach medical

West Ham have made the decision to loan out Reece Oxford for the 2017/18 season in order to aid his development and a move is set to be finalised soon.

The England youth international arrived in Germany earlier today for talks with Borussia Monchengladbach over a season-long loan move an it seems those talks have been rather successful.

According to German source Kicker, Oxford will undergo a medical today with the Bundesliga outfit ahead of completing a loan move.

Oxford endured an up and down season last term where an ankle injury halted his progression at West Ham before he joined Reading on loan where he was limited to just five appearances in five months.

Monchengladbach want the 18-year-old centre-back to replace Andreas Christensen who has spent the last two seasons at the club on loan from Chelsea and developed into a fine young defender in his own right.

Confirmation of Oxford’s loan switch is expected in the near future in what projects to be a very exciting move for the teenager.
