West Ham have spent the last couple of weeks locked in talks with Manchester City regarding a transfer for striker Kelechi Iheanacho. The Hammers are said to be very keen on bringing in the forward and have made him one of their top targets.

Iheanacho has recently reiterated his desire to stay at Manchester City but the belief is that City have informed him that he will likely be sold this summer and it’s up to West Ham to strike a deal with City for the striker.

The sticking point on this deal is understood to be a buy-back clause, Ex reports. The two clubs are believed to be quite far apart on the figure they want the buy-back clause to be, and this is holding up the deal.

Recently, the likes of Crystal Palace, Everton and Swansea have all been linked with a move for the striker but West Ham remain very interested and are hopeful of coming to an agreement in the near future.

Another striker on West Ham’s radar is Henry Onyekuru. The teenager scored 25 goals for Pro League minnows KAS Eupen last season and has been linked with the likes of Arsenal, Borussia Dortmund and Monaco.

West Ham are said to be one of a number of clubs that have lodged a bid for him this summer, and the player wants to join a lesser team so he’s guaranteed to play regular football.

Ex notes that the player is expected to choose West Ham when he flies over for talks with a number of clubs this week, while there have been claims this afternoon that Eupen have rejected West Ham’s offer and want him to join a more prestigious team.

Michy Batshuayi remains on our radar but West Ham appear to have prioritised to aforementioned strikers. Chelsea look to set to sign Romelu Lukaku which could mean Batshuayi is made available for loan and providing he doesn’t head to Everton as part of the Lukaku deal, the Hammers will make a loan offer.

If Batshuayi is a no-go, fellow Chelsea strikers Bertrand Traore and Tammy Abraham are both also being considered, but there is great interest in the pair and both could be off the market in the coming days and weeks.

Olivier Giroud is also being considered by West Ham. The Frenchman has been a reliable performer for Arsenal over the last few years but it seems they’re ready to move on from the 30-year-old.

Only contracted until the end of next season, Giroud could be available for the right price this summer and West Ham are monitoring the situation. The club failed with a move for him a year ago and are ready to try again. Lucas Perez is also on our radar.

In light of the England U20s success at their World Cup over the last few weeks, West Ham have had scout Thomas Hengen present in Korea running the rule over a number of potential targets. Hengen worked with Head of Recruitment Tony Henry at Everton and the two share similar outlooks on transfers.

West Ham’s 2017/18 home shirt has gone on sale in Thailand and has been leaked online. It fits the specification that Ex gave on his weekly radio show. The shirt will be paired with a pair of white shorts and white socks which will feature some claret and blue rings. The official release date for the kits looks likely to be either June 15th or June 21st.

The club’s third kit is a light blue shirt with claret piping on the sleeves and it has a button-up collar which neither the home or away shirt has. The shorts will be white with claret piping down the side.
