West Ham have joined Watford and West Brom in the race to sign Montpellier forward Steve Mounie, according to a report from Darren Lewis of the Mirror.
The 22-year-old impressed plenty of people with his performances in France last season as he managed to score 14 goals and it looks like officials at West Ham were amongst those who liked what they saw.
The Benin international is thought to be available for around £13million but that could increase if a bidding war starts.
Tony Pulis is looking to add another striker to his squad with rumours circulating that Salomon Rondon could leave West Brom, whilst Watford are unlikely to make M’Baye Niang’s loan from AC Milan a permanent move.
West Ham have been in the market for a striker for a long time with most of the options they’ve tried failing to deliver because of poor performance or injury.
Mounie would reportedly be interested in a move to England but if West Ham do want him, they will have to beat those other interested clubs to his signature.
