Goalkeeper has been a problem position for West Ham this season with both Adrian and Darren Randolph splitting time as the club’s number one between the sticks.
Slaven Bilic says he is content with the ‘keeper situation but the Hammers are continuing to be linked with a number of top goalkeepers.
Manchester City’s Joe Hart and Sunderland’s Jordan Pickford are two prominent names linked, but the Hammers are now said to be interested in another Premier League stopper.
According to Italian source Il Mattino (h/t Sport Witness), West Ham are interested in signing Wojciech Szczesny from Arsenal, but face competition from AC Milan and Napoli.
Szczesny has spent the last couple of seasons on loan with AS Roma after the Gunners signed Petr Cech and it’s long been thought that the Poland international will leave the Emirates on a permanent transfer sooner or later.
It had been claimed that Napoli struck an agreement with Szczesny over a three-year contract but are yet to agree a fee with Arsenal for the transfer, leaving the door open for the Hammers and Milan to make their move.
Capped 28 times by Poland, the 27-year-old clearly doesn’t have a future with Arsenal and a transfer this summer will be in everyone’s best interest.
