West Ham move for Isaac Success ends in failure

Slaven Bilic has stated that he is looking to add pace to his squad in the summer, especially in the forward areas, and he, along with his recruitment team, have been searching for potential additions.

All Nigeria Soccer had reported that the Hammers were interested in signing Watford forward Isaac Success in the summer after an uninspiring first season in English football.

The 21-year-old netted six goals and contributed five assists during the 2015/16 season with Granada, earning himself a £12.75m move to Watford last summer where he was expected to help spearhead the attack.

Unfortunately for the striker, he suffered from hamstring injuries early in the season and was unable to force his way back into Walter Mazzarri’s first-team plans, making just 19 appearances, starting just twice in the Premier League and finding the net on one occasion.

Success has held talks with the club as he seeks a regular role in the side next season and the Watford Observer says West Ham interest is wide of the mark after the striker was promised a fresh start next year under Mazzarri’s successor.

West Ham will have to move onto other targets and are still hopeful of securing the signature of Eupen star Henry Onyekuru.
