Michail Antonio has been one of very few bright spots this season but things have taken a turn for the worse.
According to the Times, Antonio has had a falling out with the board amid his new contract talks and his frustration with how the club have handles his injury struggles of late.
The 27-year-old was in line for a new contract this season but talks broke down when the winger was unhappy about being offered slightly lower wages than Robert Snodgrass and Jose Fonte, both of whom came into the club during the January transfer window and signed deals worth in the region of £60,000-a-week.
Antonio enjoyed a breakthrough season last year following his £7m transfer from Nottingham Forest and was rewarded with a new five-year contract in the summer but has elevated his game once again, scoring nine goals and recording five assists this season before suffering a hamstring injury.
This injury was picked up during the 3-2 defeat against Leicester and forced him to pull out of the England international squad in March and miss three weeks of action.
West Ham, who were in the thick of a relegation struggle at the time, rushed Antonio back from injury and started games against Arsenal and Swansea – both of which he was subbed off before half-time after aggravating that injury.
The poor management of his injury situation has angered him and he’s now considering leaving the club in the summer as a result.
Chelsea have been linked in recent months with a move for the versatile winger.
