Hammers midfielder reveals ambition to leave the club

Following a consistent run in the starting XI, Obiang has flourished this season and has been linked with moves away from the club this summer.

The Spanish midfielder also revealed that fellow Italian side, Fiorentina were interested in signing him previously.

It’s very likely I’ll return to Italy, but I don’t know when, I would return here (Sampdoria) above all else, but you never know. I would certainly like to return, everyone wants to but there are many teams, we’ll have to wait a bit. Fiorentina? There were some simple discussions, but West Ham didn’t want to sell me and I wanted to stay there.

The 25-year-old has made 30 appearances in all competitions this season, scoring just one goal and making one assist.

Whilst it isn’t being reported that West Ham are looking to sell the player and it is believed that only a sizeable fee would allow the Hammers to entertain the idea of selling the midfielder.

After losing Dimitri Payet in January, the club will want to keep hold of as many key players as possible this summer.
