West Ham join Tottenham in race to sign striker

Tottenham Hotspur are interested in signing Besiktas forward Cenk Tosun but they will face competition from West Ham, according to reports.

The 25-year-old has scored 16 goals in 25 league games this season and he also scored twice in four minutes for Turkey in their World Cup qualifier against Finland last week.

He can play as a central striker or on the flanks and due to his EU citizenship, he would not need a work permit.

According to reports in Turkey, the forward would cost around £17million, so it remains to be seen if Spurs or West Ham are prepared to meet his asking price.

Tottenham are looking for a backup to Harry Kane whislt West Ham seem to have been searching for a striker for a number of years as the ones they’ve had have either been too injury prone or simply not good enough.

If both clubs was Tosun, Spurs would have the advantage of offering European football but the player would probably get more game time at the Hammers so it’d be interesting to see which choice he would make.
