David Gold isn’t one to censor himself on Twitter as he likes to keep an ‘open book’ philosophy when it comes to bringing the fans closer to West Ham.
Now elapsed seven years as the West Ham co-chairman with David Sullivan, Gold has always been one of the first to reveal or comment on any news surrounding the first-team and today was no different.
After Slaven Bilic told the media this morning that Andy Carroll has been missing training lately with a minor injury and that he has a chance to feature against Watford after being dropped for the West Brom game as a precaution, Gold has revealed the extent of the injury.

“Andy Carroll has a niggling groin injury which is difficult to assess.” Gold put out on Twitter.

Carroll suffered the injury during the 3-1 win at the Riverside against Middlesbrough and was subbed off midway through the second half.
He played through the injury during the defeat to Manchester City and the win over Southampton but again failed to play the full 90 minutes in either game despite being fit enough to start.
The 28-year-old travelled with the first-team squad to Dubai last week for some warm weather training but he hasn’t recovered as quickly as hoped and has spent the majority of his training time lately doing gym work and physiotherapy rather than partaking in high-intensity sessions with the rest of the squad.
It remains up in the air whether Carroll will feature on Saturday but I wouldn’t get my hopes up knowing the club’s extra cautious stance on the matter.
