While Dimitri Payet’s dream move back to Marseille continues to stagnate, Premier League outfits are pondering a move for the Frenchman.

According to Sky Sports News reporter Kaveh Solhekol, a ‘mid-table Premier League club’ is interested in signing Payet this month, but he’s got no interest in making the move. Here are the options:

Marseille have seen three bids knocked back for the 29-year-old they sold to West Ham in July 2015, the most recent worth a reported £25m but the Hammers are insistent on their £35m asking price for Payet.
In recent days, Ligue 1 pacesetters Nice and PSG have both been linked with a move for Payet but he only has his eyes set on a return to Marseille after handing in a transfer request a fortnight ago.
West Ham are more than happy to keep Payet at the club until their valuation is met in full, meaning the ball is firmly in Marseille’s court.
It remains unknown which club have approached West Ham for Payet. Perhaps Everton, who were interested back when Payet first made the move to West Ham. Maybe even Southampton to help get them back into the European mix. You could also never rule out Manchester United, if they’re considered mid-table.
