With less than two weeks left of the January transfer window, we are no closer to a resolution to the Dimitri Payet transfer saga.
Payet made it known that he no longer wants to play for West Ham by handing in a transfer request with his heart firmly set on a return to Marseille, the club who sold Payet to the Hammers in July 2015 for a reported £10.7m
To prove that point, Payet has already rejected a lucrative move to the Chinese Super League worth £500,000-a-week and has snubbed a fellow ‘mid-table’ Premier League team this week.
Marseille have had two bids rejected for Payet, but RMC Sport are now reporting that the Ligue 1 side have seen a third offer worth €27m (£23.2m) turned down by West Ham for the 29-year-old.

After dropping their initial asking price of €40m down to €34m, West Ham have made it clear to Marseille that they will not sell Payet for a penny less than €30m (£25.8m) this month.
RMC claim the two clubs were to meet again today to further discuss a transfer, and Marseille are expected to launch a fourth bid to re-sign the enigmatic attacking midfielder. The two clubs are closer than ever to a deal – but an agreement has yet to be reached
