Last Saturday, we witnessed one of the greatest goals in Premier League history when Andy Carroll’s bicycle kick flew into the top corner to help West Ham secure a vital three points against Crystal Palace.
The technique, the power, the placement – all coming from a man of Carroll’s size (as you wouldn’t associate such a feat of athleticism to come from a player so lumbering) was simply stunning, and here it is in all it’s glory again, it gets better with every viewing.
Twitter: You can get 7/4 on Andy Carroll’s bicycle kick to win Goal of the Season with @betway – who’d bet against it!… https://t.co/m0TE89sml1 (@ReadWestHam)
In any other year, it’s a slam-dunk winner of Match of the Day’s Goal of the Season award. However, this year it’s rivalled by the scorpion kicks scored by Manchester United’s Henrikh Mkhitaryan and Arsenal’s Olivier Giroud – both fantastic goals in their own right.
We feel, and there’s no bias here, that Carroll’s strike is, in the words of Tina Turner, simply the best. Betway are offering 7/4 for his goal to win the award this season, which is pretty great value considering the consensus is that it is the best goal scored so far this season.
Come on, show Andy some love by backing it and you’ll enjoy the fruits of your labour in May.
