It wouldn’t be a January transfer window without West Ham scrambling to flog some flops and bring in several players to save their season.
With Simone Zaza already gone and Jonathan Calleri likely to follow, the Hammers need to bring in some fresh faces in attack and sharpish.
A player they are looking at is AC Milan’s M’Baye Niang – but only if Sofiane Feghouli leaves the club as well this month, say Calciomercato.
Feghouli hasn’t particularly impressed since signing on a free transfer from Valencia in the summer. With just one goal and one Premier League start to his name in 15 appearances, the Algerian winger has been linked with January exit.
Roma have had an offer knocked back to sign Feghouli on an initial six-month loan deal with an option to make it permanent for around €9m but West Ham are holding out for a permanent sale nearer £12m.
Should he leave the club, Niang is high on the club’s shortlist for replacements. Able to play as a central striker or on the wing, the former France U21 international offers great versatility for Slaven Bilic.
