In search for depth at fullback, West Ham have started talks with Juventus left-back Patrice Evra ahead of a January move, according to the Guardian.
The Hammers have had a lot of back luck with injuries this season, especially at fullback with Sam Byram, Arthur Masuaku and Aaron Cresswell each all spending several months on the sidelines at different points of the season.
This has prompted Slaven Bilic to enter the transfer market to bring in another body in this area of the pitch, and Juventus’ Patrice Evra is reportedly someone we’re looking at.
Bilic did try his hand at bringing in a veteran fullback in the summer to offer some experience and versatility to his defence but Alvaro Arbeloa’s stint in East London has been largely unsuccessful and it’s likely that the former Liverpool and Real Madrid man will leave the club.

Evra has a vast amount of Premier League experience courtesy of the eight-and-a-half years he spent at Manchester United where he won three League Cups, five Premier League titles and a Champions League.
The 35-year-old has only made three starts in Serie A this season for Juventus after being usurped by Alex Sandro in the pecking order and it’s understood that he’d rather leave and play first-team football elsewhere than collect his wages by sitting on the bench.
Given that Aaron Cresswell remains West Ham’s best left-back at the club, it’s hard to envisage that Evra would come in and displace him from the side, which begs the question: why move for the Frenchman anyway?
