Sam Allardyce teams are always built upon strong foundations at the back and it’s no surprise to learn who is on his radar.
According to the Daily Mail, Allardyce wants to bring out-of-favour West Ham defender James Collins to Crystal Palace this month.
Allardyce signed Collins whilst he was the manager at West Ham and the Welshman became an integral part of his squad during their time together, but under Slaven Bilic, Collins has lost his place in the side to Angelo Ogbonna and has been on the outside looking in this term.
When the team moved to a back three, Bilic made the decision to go with Cheikhou Kouyate as the extra centre-back and not Collins, which could be a suggestion of how he views the former Aston Villa man. So far this term he has made nine Premier League appearances but has missed every match in December with an apparent injury.
West Ham could choose to offload Collins in January in order to hand Reece Oxford a bigger role in the first team squad.
