Agent: Simone Zaza’s time at West Ham “is finished”

West Ham went all-time on Simone Zaza when they opted to sign the striker on loan from Juventus in January – a gamble that has backfired massively in the months since.

Without a goal in 12 appearances, the Hammers have given up the ghost on the Italian international it seems with Zaza two appearances shy of seeing his £5m season-long loan become a £20m permanent transfer.

Speaking to Corriere dello Sport this week (h/t Enisports), Simone’s father and agent Antonio Zaza has confirmed his son’s time with West Ham “is finished” and that a move next month looks likely.

“The adventure of Simone at West Ham is finished and we are evaluating different situations for his future.

“We will deal with Valencia, but they are not the only concrete situation we are considering.

“Clearly my son would love to be coached by a great coach in [Valencia manager] Cesare Prandelli, but it is possible that Simon could return to play in Serie A.

“We are not considering the possibility of a return to Juventus, from this point of view we are far, very far indeed.”

West Ham are eager to bring in a new striker as well and have targeted the likes of Carlos Bacca and Nikola Kalinic.
