West Ham in the driving seat to sign French attacker

According to Tutto Mercato West Ham are leading the race to sign Frenchman, Grégoire Defrel.

Reportedly the Striker is wanted by Roma and Marseille as well however the idea of first team football seems attractive to the 24-year-old.

With Summer signings Simone Zaza and Jonathan Calleri failing at West Ham, it may be time to bring in someone on a permanent deal who will score goals and provide for the club.

With Diafra Sakho and summer signing Andre Ayew travelling to the African Cup of Nations in January the Hammers will be left with Andy Carroll and Ashley Fletcher as they aim for a place in the top half in the league.

Goals have been a problem for West Ham this season as they sit sixth lowest with only 19 goals scored in 17 games while Defrel himself has had no issue finding the net having scored on eight occasions this term.

Defrel won’t be an easy signing however if it does come through he could be just what we have been looking for.
