West Ham star Dimitri Payet is certainly not without suitors.
After a stellar debut campaign with the Hammers, PSG came calling for Payet after he helped carry France to the final of Euro 2016. Their enquiry was met with a resounding ‘no’ from David Sullivan who stated Payet was not for sale at any price.
This term, however, West Ham have been sub-par in their Premier League performances to date which has prompted some to question whether Payet would want to remain at the club in January and if he’s truly giving his all every week for the club.
Manchester United are believed to be interested in signing the attacking midfielder in January but West Ham are still not interested in a sale.
Should the unthinkable happen and a deal is struck between the clubs, West Ham would only do a deal if United forward Anthony Martial is included as part of the deal on an initial loan move until the end of the season with an option to buy, according to Le10Sport.
The 21-year-old striker was United’s top scorer last season with 20 goals in 63 appearances across all competitions but has found himself shunted out onto the wings this term following the arrival of Zlatan Ibrahimovic at Old Trafford.
While Martial would be an absolutely fantastic signing, it’s hard to envisage Jose Mourinho to allow the Frenchman to leave the club in any capacity in the near future – and the same goes for West Ham and Payet. But, you never know.
