Premier League sides West Ham United and Tottenham Hotspur have opened talks with the representatives of Lyon midfielder Rachid Ghezzal, according to reports.
The 24-year-old is out of contract in the summer and is able to freely discuss a possibly move with any club in January, but it looks like both Spurs and West Ham have already made initial enquiries.

Ghezzal will most likely be part of the Algerian squad for the African Cup of Nations which starts in mid-January, so interested parties might want to look to get a pre-contract agreement signed before he flies to Gabon, hence the early contact.
The other option is for Lyon to sell the winger when the window opens so that they don’t lose him for free a few months down the line. However, he is an important player for them so unless they have an immediate replacement lined up, they could hold onto him and take the financial hit when the season ends.
