West Ham have reportedly joined Middlesbrough and Stoke City in the race to sign Dutch forward Sam Lammers.
The 19-year-old is currently on the books of PSV Eindhoven but his contract there expires in around 18 months time and he’s yet to commit his future to the Eredivisie side.
After impressing in the reserve and under 21 sides, he’s recently been called up to the first team and at 6’2″ tall, he certainly offers something different.
West Ham, Stoke and Middlesbrough have all been keeping tabs on his contract situation and could decide to test both his and PSV’s resolve by making a move to bring him to England.
The player would obviously benefit financially from the move and PSV could decide to cash in too if they think that he’s unlikely to sign a new deal any time soon.
West Ham have been looking for a consistent, reliable forward for some time now, it remains to be seen if they think Lammers could be that man.
