West Ham linked with shock move for Cesc Fabregas

West Ham are believed to be plotting a move for Premier League-winning Chelsea midfielder Cesc Fabregas if he fails to nail down a place in the first-team, according to the Mirror.

The Spaniard was a substitute for each of Chelsea’s first five Premier League games and was handed a first start of the season in the EFL Cup against Leicester last week and gave Antonio Conte something to think about with two goals in a 4-2 extra-time victory.

Restored to the starting eleven for the trip to Arsenal on Saturday, Fabregas failed to impress against his former employers and was hauled off in the second half during a 3-0 defeat.

The Hammers are keeping tabs on the former Barcelona man’s situation over the coming months with a view to making a possible January transfer move.

After suffering their fourth straight Premier League defeat (and fifth straight in all competitions), West Ham are struggling for confidence and you can’t pinpoint where the next win is coming from.

This weekend the Hammers welcome Middlesbrough to the London Stadium.
