Scouts from Manchester United, Manchester City, Chelsea and West Ham were in attendance last Sunday as Sporting Lisbon succumbed to a shock 3-1 defeat to Rio Av in the Liga NOS, claim A Bola.
All eyes were on 21-year-old winger Gelson Martins who has been in fine form this season. The Portuguese U21 international assisted in Bas Dost’s consolation goal.
Martins has either assisted or scored in each of his five league appearances so far this season, racking up two goals and four assists so far.

Able to play on either win or through the middle, Martins is a talented prospect to keep an eye on in the foreseeable future but the Hammers have a wealth of talent on the wings with Michail Antonio, Sofiane Feghouli and Gokhan Tore.
The Hammers had a scout watching Martins in action over the weekend, and they were joined by representatives from both Manchester clubs and Chelsea as a January move to the Premier League looks likely.
Should the Hammers look to sign Martins, he has a €60m buyout clause.
