West Ham’s summer arrival Domingos Quina could be set for a surprise England call-up down the line, according to the Telegraph.
It’s believed that Sam Allardyce and his England staff are making checks on all possible players who could be eligible to play for England through accumulative years of residency and so on.
This is reminiscent of years past when the likes of Mikel Arteta and Manuel Almunia were tipped for England futures but they never materialised.
Recently, Allardyce contacted FIFA over the possibility of having Sevilla midfielder Steven N’Zonzi play for the Three Lions only to have it ruled out due to his history playing for the French U21 side.
Quina is a current Portugal U17 international attacker as was part of the side who won their European Champions in Azerbaijan. He joined the Hammers from Chelsea at the start of the summer on a two-year scholar deal ahead of signing a permanent contract when he turns 17 in November.
Winger Michail Antonio became the first Hammer to be called up to the full international side since 2014 when Stewart Downing featured against Scotland. With former West Ham manager Sam Allardyce now in charge, it’s not unreasonable to think more call-ups could be made to Hammers stars.
