At today’s pre-match press conference ahead of West Ham’s Europa League play-off second leg with Astra Giurgiu, Slaven Bilic confirmed West Ham’s interest in Simone Zaza.
Bilic confirmed that there are a couple players the club are dealing with and hope to make a signing or two due to injuries.

The Juventus striker has been linked with the Hammers since Bilic first took over last summer but a deal has yet to be agreed.
An Italian international, Zaza has been linked with a move to Wolfsburg also. The deal was near completion, he even went to visit the club and toured the ground and facilities but they changed their contract offer at the last-minute and the move fell through.
Now, with injuries blighting the squad, Slaven Bilic has confirmed he is interested in signing Zaza before next week’s transfer deadline.
Twitter: SB: “We were linked with him (Zaza) last year and he is a top player. We were in contact with him last year and will see what happens. (@WestHamUtd)
“I ain’t gonna tell you the details, you know we were linked with him (Zaza) last year and he is a top player. I like the player, I was here last year, tells you everything.” Bilic said.

A loan deal has been mooted for the Juventus striker with an option to buy should he impress.
