West Ham offer £20m for Gabbiadini

West Ham have submitted an opening offer of £20m for Napoli striker Manolo Gabbiadini, according to Calcio Mercato.

Fellow Premier League side Everton have also placed a bid, believed to be a similar figure.

The Hammers have been forced back into the transfer market after club-record signing Andre Ayew was ruled up for four months with thigh injury and frontman Andy Carroll revealed that he would be sidelined for four to six weeks.

Manchester City flop Wilfried Bony and Simone Zaza of Juventus have also been linked with a move to the London Stadium, with the latter reportedly holding talks with the club on Monday evening.

Since joining Napoli, Gabbiadini has struggled to cement his place in the starting line-up and is weighing up his options before the transfer window slams shut next Wednesday.

Gabbiadini has scored 20 goals in 60 appearances for Napoli but has failed to replicate the form that earned him a place in the Italy squad at Sampdoria.
