Slaven Bilic has updated West Ham fans on the status of injured star Andre Ayew.
Speaking at his pre-match press conference ahead of Sunday’s game against Bournemouth – just eight hours after arriving back from Romania where the Hammers battled for a 1-1 draw against Astra Giurgiu in the Europa League play-offs, Bilic issued an update on Ayew and where he stands.
Twitter: SLAVEN: For Andre Ayew, there are two solutions, one with surgery and one without. We are going to decide which one soon. (@WestHamUtd)
“For Andre Ayew, there are two solutions, one with surgery and one without. We are going to decide which one (to take) soon.” he told reporters.
Twitter: SLAVEN: He could be out for two and a half months or up to four. It shouldn’t be more. He could be back this year, and we just have to hope. (@WestHamUtd)

Ayew sustained a thigh injury just 35 minutes into his West Ham debut against Chelsea on Monday night. Bilic was hoping that he would only be sidelined for a few weeks but scan results came back indicating the injury was much more severe and may require surgery.
The Hammers signed Ayew from Swansea in a club-record £20.5m deal but won’t see the Ghanaian in action again unti the Winter.
