Andre Ayew to miss a couple of weeks, Bilic confirms

Slaven Bilic has confirmed that club-record signing Andre Ayew is set to miss a couple of weeks following a thigh injury picked up against Chelsea.

The Ghanaian forward pulled up midway through the first half in the 2-1 defeat to Chelsea on Monday night and was substituted with an apparent thigh injury.

Ayew has scans on the injury Tuesday to discover the extent of the damage, and Bilic has revealed today at his pre-match press conference for West Ham’s Europa League clash with Astra Giurgiu that Ayew will miss a couple of weeks.

Gokhan Tore replaced Ayew at Stamford Bridge from the bench to make his first appearance in a West Ham shirt since his arrival from Besiktas on a season-long loan, and he will be expected to deputise until Ayew returns.
