West Ham bid £7 million for Lyon’s Rachid Ghezzal

Transfermarketweb have reported that West Ham have made an offer of £7 million for Olympique Lyon’s Rachid Ghezzal after their £6.2m offer was turned down and are confident of completing the deal.

The Algerian international has just one year left on his contract at the Ligue 1 side, who finished second ahead of Monaco on goal difference last season.

We’ve reported earlier today that Lyon president Jean-Michel Aulas confirmed that they received a bid from West Ham. Other Premier League sides like Everton and Southampton have also been linked with the 24-year-old winger.

Aulas has said that they are negotiating with Ghezzal’s advisors about a new contract and that he doesn’t want to leave Lyon.

I held his hand, and spoke with him; He wants me to talk to his advisers, and I will call them this week to break the deadlock. It would be great if we can reach an agreement, but we have received offers for him from West Ham.

Slaven Bilic has strengthened West Ham going into the new Premier League season, bringing in faces like Sofiane Feghouli, Havard Nordtveit and Andre Ayew. They will start off the 2016/17 campaign against Chelsea.
