Following the injury to Aaron Cresswell, West Ham have identified Dynamo Moscow fullback Alexander Buttner as a potential replacement, according to FOX Sports.
West Ham were dealt the crushing news that Cresswell would be sidelined for three to four months with a knee ligament injury sustained in the 3-0 friendly win over FC Karlsruher last week.

As we stand, the likely stand-in would be Lewis Page, a regular in the reserve side for the Hammers but is yet to make his Premier League debut. However, the 20-year-old did make three appearances in the Europa League qualifiers last season.
The plan was to recruit another left-back during this transfer window to be Cresswell’s backup as the Englishman has missed hardly any games since he joined from Ipswich in 2014. Cresswell over the last two seasons has played the most minutes in the Premier League of any player in the division.
Now they need to definitely sign an experienced defender to fill in at least for the first half of the season until Cresswell is back fully fit, and one of the players alleged to be on West Ham’s radar is Alexander Buttner.

The Dynamo Moscow left-back spent the second half of last season on loan with Anderlecht and has just one-year left on his deal but face competition from Wolves.
Slaven Bilic tried to sign Buttner while at Besiktas but the defender opted for Moscow after deciding to leave Manchester United two years after he joined the club in a £4.25m move from Vitesse Arnhem.
