According to the Express and Star, Newcastle have joined the race to sign Walsall defender Rico Henry.
The report also says that West Ham are currently favourites for his signature. Although Leicester, Leeds, Southampton, Arsenal and Liverpool are all thought to be interested in the young defender.
Henry has been attracting a lot of interest following his fine performances for Walsall in the past few seasons, despite being just 19-years-old.
West Ham have sent George Dobson on loan to Walsall for the season in an attempt to build a good rapport with the League One outfit, hoping it could help them in their pursuit of the defender.
Henry has been likened to Ashley Cole and is seen as one of the next best defenders in English football at the moment. The left-back could relish the chance to understudy Aaron Cresswell at West Ham, who has been superb in recent season for Slaven Bilic’s side.
