Man City make approach for Reece Oxford

Premier League side Manchester City have an official approach to sign West Ham starlet Reece Oxford, according to the Daily Telegraph’s Chris Bascombe.

Oxford has been heavily linked with a move away from the Hammers this summer with City, as well as the likes of Manchester United and Chelsea, showing an interest in the 17-year-old.

Red Bull Leipzig have already had a bid in the region of £10m rejected for Oxford, so a significantly higher fee is likely to be demanded in order for City to take o one of West Ham’s most promising talents.

City scouts have reportedly been watching Oxford in the U19 European Championships, where he has started in two of England’s three group stage matches.

Most Hammers fans will best remember Oxford for his exceptional midfield performance of the opening day of the 2015/16 season, where he helped West Ham to a 2-0 victory over Arsenal at the Emirates.
