Championship newcomers, Newcastle United are the latest club to join West Brom, Crystal Palace and Sunderland in the race to sign Diafra Sakho from West Ham.
According to the Daily Mail, Rafa Benitez’s side have expressed an interest in the striker who looks set to leave this summer after refusing to travel with the squad to their pre-season training camp in Austria.
Sakho refused to travel as he hopes to push through a transfer as soon as possible. The Hammers are also looking to tie up a deal swiftly so they can continue searching for a new forward.

The club are cautious about sanctioning a deal that would see him leave the club with no deal in place for a replacement.
Newcastle have already brought in Dwight Gayle from Crystal Palace £10million and Matt Ritchie from Bournemouth for £12milion this summer. A move for Sakho would add more pedigree to their attack ahead of their season in England’s second division.
