Arsenal look to hijack West Ham’s striker bid

West Ham’s pursuit of AC Milan striker Carlos Bacca seems to be never ending, and it has taken so long that the Hammers could end up seeing Arsenal hijack the move, according to a report from Italian newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport.

Arsenal are clearly in the market for a new forward and after missing out on Leicester City’s Jamie Vardy, they were linked with a move for Napoli star Gonzalo Higuain.

However, it now appears that the Argentine is set to join Juventus for a reported £70million deal, which leaves the Gunners searching for a new target.

According to the report, Arsene Wenger’s side have identified Bacca as the man who fits the bill.

West Ham’s striker search has gone in a similar way to Arsenal’s, in that they seemingly keep missing out on reported targets, and they’d be hugely disappointed if they missed out on Bacca, which is a possibility as Arsenal can offer Champions League football.
