Onazi’s agent has confirmed English interest in his client

According to Caught Offside, Lazio midfielder Ogneyi Onazi’s agent has confirmed there is interest in his client from several clubs, including West Ham and Besiktas.

Stephen Makinwa, Onazi’s agent, went on to suggest that the interest in the 23-year-old doesn’t stop there, with Premier League side Sunderland also interested in his services.

There are many clubs interested in the Onazi including from England.

He is the captain of the Nigerian national team so it is natural for there to be interested and Besiktas are also one of those clubs.

It is being reported that Serie A side Lazio are asking for £7m for the 2013 AFCON winner, seeing as he has two-years remaining on his current deal at Stadio Olimpico.

It was only in 2014 that Onazi extended his stay at the Italian outfit, committing to Lazio by signing a two-year contract extension.

Last season, Onazi made 14 appearances in Serie A, featuring on 22 occasions in all competitions.

Nigerian newspaper Punch are reporting that, as well as the trio of clubs mentioned above, Everton, Swansea, Southampton and Panatinaikos are all interested in Onazi.

For Nigeria, Onazi has made 38 appearances for the senior team since 2012, only netting once.
