West Ham turn down £10m offer from Lazio for Valencia

West Ham have turned down a fresh bid from Lazio worth £10m for wantaway striker Enner Valencia, according to the Express.

Valencia expressed his desire to leave the club through his agent this week and the Hammers are equally eager to find a buyer for the flop striker.

The Ecuadorian international has scored just 10 goals in 61 games for West Ham since his £12m move from Pachuca two years ago, and the club are eager to recoup as much of that fee as possible.

They had received a large offer from an unnamed Chinese Super League side recently which they were prepared to accept but Valencia turned down a move as he wants to continue his career in a top European league, namely either Serie A or La Liga.

The 26-year-old had agreed to a move to Italy with Lazio, should the Serie A club agree a deal with the Hammers for the striker.

They had initially only been looking at a £2m loan deal with a mandatory £10m purchase option which would be exercised next summer, but have since changed their stance and offered £10m to sign him on a permanent basis this summer.

However, the Express state the Hammers have turned this offer down and are standing firm on their £13m asking price for Valencia, who is highly unlikely to remain at the club for the start of the Premier League season five weeks away.
