No approach from Atletico for Christian Benteke

According to Sports Witness no-one has inquired about Christian Benteke as of yet.

After having what many people have classed as a bad season, Benteke has been tipped for a move away from Anfield as Jurgen Klopp looks to use his first summer at Liverpool to shape his squad his way. However, today his agent has revealed that nothing concrete has come through so far.

On Wednesday Spanish newspaper, Sport claimed that Atletico Madrid had decided to contact the Merseyside team about the availability of the Belgian ahead of players like Diego Costa and Edinson Cavani.

However when asked Benteke’s agent said that he had “nothing at all with any team” He was also asked if we should expect Benteke to stay at Liverpool next season and he simply answered “yes”.

West Ham have watched their tireless efforts to sign Michy Batshuayi end in vein as the Marseille and Belgium striker will be joining Chelsea on a five-year deal for a fee reported at £33.2m and are therefore back to square one regarding signing a striker.

The likes of Alexandre Lacazette, Carlos Bacca, Simone Zaza and Vincent Janssen have all been mentioned as possible incomings at West Ham, but you can’t rule out a late swoop for Christian Benteke should we fail to recruit any of the above forwards.
