Zaza back on West Ham’s Radar

According to Tuttomercatoweb,  Juventus forward Simone Zaza has regained his position on West Ham’s wanted list, but they face competition from Valencia, Borussia Dortmund, Wolfsburg and Bayer Leverkusen.

The Italian made his tournament debut for his country, Italy on Friday and he managed to provide the assist for Eder as they beat Sweden 1-0 and secured their place in the last 16 of the competition.

Zaza’s performances at Euro 2016 are being watched by West Ham but there is interest from wider Europe, especially Spain and Germany where the likes of Valencia, Borussia Dortmund, Wolfsburg and Bayer Leverkusen all have representatives tracking his progress.

The Italian struggled to maintain a regular place in the title-winning side this season as he made only 19 appearances all season, scoring five times – four of which were off the bench as he earned the tag ‘impact sub’ – not something strikers are overly keen on.

West Ham are still searching for their marquee signing and Zaza may be the right option. The club were adamant on pursuing Alexandre Lacazette, however, today Lyon rejected a £37 million bid for the Frenchman and it seems as though West Ham have given up after the striker himself ruled out a move.

In light of this, the club have moved quickly and are said to be on the verge of wrapping up a £30.8m deal to sign Michy Batshuayi from Marseille from under Tottenham’s noses.
