Gokhan Tore: I want to play for West Ham

West Ham have been boosted in their efforts to sign Gokhan Tore from Besiktas after the winger revealed he wants to play for the Hammers.

According to Turkish source Yazbir, the former Chelsea youth star, who has been a target for the Hammers ever since Slaven Bilic left Besiktas to take the reigns at West Ham, has signalled his intent to follow Bilic out the Besiktas exit door to East London.

I have a contract until 2019 with Beşiktaş. But I completed my mission here. If you get my fee, I want to play at West Ham.

West Ham have been locked in negotiations for the Turkish international throughout the summer but have reportedly come to an agreement over a £13m transfer for Tore.

Besiktas General Secretary Ahmed Urkmezgil revealed yesterday on Turkish radio that the club will allow Tore to leave for West Ham if their asking price was met.

The 24-year-old worked well under Bilic during the Croat’s two seasons in charge of the Turkish champions, and Bilic has always maintained his admiration for the attacker and his intent to bring him to West Ham. He took to Lig Tv last week and stated he was interested in the Turk.

Tore scored four goals and recorded seven assists for Besiktas last season as they again lifted the Super Lig title, but admits his time at the club is over and wants to move on to bigger and better things.

West Ham already welcomed one new winger to the club this summer after yesterday announcing the arrival of Algerian Sofiane Feghouli on a free transfer from Valencia, it appears it’s a matter of when, not if, Tore follows suit.
