West Ham have moved one step closer to completing the signing of Besiktas winger Gokhan Tore after their General Secretary, Ahmed Ürkmezgil, claimed he can join the Hammers.
According to Turkish source Sondakika, Ürkmezgil was speaking live on Radyospor today and stated that the former Chelsea winger “can go” and join West Ham this summer.
Gokhan is a great player and we will only sell him for the right price. West Ham is an option and we will not rule out that transfer.
Slaven Bilic spoke with Lig Tv following Turkey’s 1-0 defeat to his native Croatia in their opening game of Euro 2016, and confirmed his interest in signing Gokhan Tore.
Yes I want Gokhan Tore, will it happen? nobody can say yet but we want him.
It’s believed the Hammers are closing in on a £13m deal to sign the Turkish international winger after Besiktas dropped their asking price from £17m to get a deal done.
The Turkish champions refused to sell Tore to Bilic last summer when he first joined West Ham, but you could imagine that the plan was always to let him have Tore this time around.
