Chelsea have made the first move to sign France star Dimitri Payet from West Ham this summer.
According to respected Italian journalist Gianluca Di Marzio, the West London club have contacted West Ham about a possible transfer for the attacking midfielder.
The news comes after Dimitri Payet stole the show for France last night during the opening game of Euro 2016.

Payet helped France take the lead as his cross was met by Giroud early in the second half who gave the hosts the lead before Romania were award a penalty which Stancu put away with ease.
With one minute left of regulation time, Kante fed the ball to Payet who turned sharply and offloaded the ball onto his weaker left-foot before launching a 25 yard curling effort into the top right corner to give France a 2-1 victory in Saint-Denis.
Much like he did in their recent warm-up game with Cameroon where Payet dispatched a 90th minute free kick from 35-yards into the far corner, the 29-year-old bailed the French out with a moment of pure magic that only a few in world football possess.

The Hammers have reportedly slapped a £60m price-tag on the man they signed for £10.5m from Marseille last summer in a bid to ward off interest in their star man.
However, that hasn’t stopped Chelsea from asking the question about luring Payet to Stamford Bridge – although their enquiry was met with a resounding ‘no he’s not for sale’.
Payet recently became the highest-paid player in the history of the club when he penned a new five-year deal with the club worth £120,000-a-week until the summer of 2021, and is openly very happy with life in East London and has no intention of leaving.
While many West Ham fans are glad he’s starring for France at the Euros, grabbing the headlines like he did all season, we’re not so keen on him turning the heads of some of the world’s biggest clubs. If he keeps this sort of form up, then clubs will come calling for him, then who knows.
