West Ham target Ozyakup rejects Lazio in favour of Premier League move

Reported West Ham target Oghuzan Ozyakup is believed to have rejected a move to Serie A with Lazio in favour of a return to English football.

The Turkish international midfielder began his career at Arsenal, but never made a Premier League appearance for the Gunners before completing a move to Turkey with Besiktas.

Since his move, Ozyakup has built himself as one of the ore promising young midfielders in Europe, but is yet to make a move into the European limelight as he continues to ply his trade in the relative unknown of his homeland.

He worked with West Ham manager Slaven Bilic during his two years as Besiktas manager, and is understood to have a strong rapport with the Hammers boss and would be keen on reuniting with the Croat.

Ozyakup has been attracting interest from across Europe, most recently from Italy in the form of Lazio, but according to native source TMW, the midfielder has rejected an approach from them as he is holding out for a big move to the Premier League.

Bilic holds a lot of trust in Ozyakup, who was his most used player during his last season with Besiktas where the Turk made 42 appearances in Bilic’s side. The Turkish champions reportedly value Ozyakup at €15m, who has two years left to run on his current contract.
